This is an original sepia photograph of two ladies, a horse and cart (I think this type is called a gig), and a pug, outside an ostlers in Tarporley in Cheshire. The photograph is mounted on tan card and has a faded title in pen which can just about be read as Tarporley 1886.

The mount measures 23 × 18cm, with the image size being 18 × 9cm. It is backed with brown paper.

Condition

The image is in good condition but faded, and there is a slight surface crease of about 3cm just to the right of the lady on the trap. The mount is tanned with some patches of browning but this remains an attractive item. The mount is more of a tan colour than the image suggests.
