An interesting brewery diary. The first half of the book is packed with tables and general information for brewers, including sections on boiler house & engineering, the brewing room (from analysis of grains and brewer's casks to gauging grains in mash tun and the reduction of worts and party gyles, customs and excise, the laboratory, and finally weights and measures, customs and stamp duties, postal information etc. The second half is the actual diary (unused) showing a week per page and interspersed with advertising of WTC's goods and services. White Tomkins & Courage were manufacturers of flaked malts, oatmeal, hop products etc.
Condition
Good condition for age. The red cloth is a little tanned and faded with a few marks. The contents are in good condition also, with secure binding and clean pages though there are a few posts of foxing to the endpapers and pastedowns.
