1913, a battered but rare copy
First edition. Hardback bound in green cloth with gilt titling to spine and upper board. 22.5 × 14cm, 121pp.
A study of the folklore of Ulster, with chapters on 1. Fairies and Their Dwelling-Places, 2. A Day at Maghera, Co. Londonderry, 3. Ulster Fairies, Danes, and Pechts, 4. Folklore Connected with Ulster Raths and Souterrains, 5. Traditions of Dwarf Races in Ireland and in Switzerland, 6. Folklore from Donegal, 7. Giants and Dwarfs, 8. The Rev. William Hamilton, DD. The book is illustrated with 12 photographic plates and 2 plans (please see the condition report below).
A poor copy but readable. The green cloth has mottled fading, and is rubbed and bumped. The contents of the book are also very battered. All plates are present but two are bound in at a different place than that indicated in the plate index. All plates have taped strengthening to the edges and there is taped repair to the binding throughout the book. The pages are tanned throughout. A rough but readable copy of a scarce title.
