Spanning twenty-three centuries, this is a delightful anthology of prose and poetry about the skylark, from Theocritus' pastoral poem through to stark warnings of the birds' declining numbers in the twentieth century. Also included are John Milton, Geoffrey Chaucer, William Blake, John Clare, Charles Dickens, Christina Rossetti, Emily Bronte, Siegfried Sassoon, W H Davies and many more.
The book is in very good condition, the dustwrapper has light edgewear but is otherwise very good.
