Sam Jones' Gospel Sermons
illustrated by Gustave Dore
Reprint. Hardback, handsomely bound in blue cloth with silver titling and decoration. 20 × 13.5cm, 346pp + ads.
A collection of sermons by Samuel Porter Jones, a prominent Southern Methodist revivalist preacher across the Southern United States. In his sermons, he preached that alcohol and idleness were sinful. This copy has 20 illustrations taken from works by Gustave Dore. The end of the book features and advertisement for the deaf to hear through the medium of teeth, and an explanation of it...
A good copy, but not a very expensive production as the printing is of quite a poor quality in places although the vast majority of the book readable.
