"The exciting story of an East End boy and his sister who, escaping from the police and the shadow of prison, take refuge in a canal boat moored in the dock at Limehouse. To their relief and delight, the owner takes pity on them and they go with him for a trip up the canals of England, where further adventures follow." The author was best known for her World War 2 memoir "Idle Women" describing her work on the barges during the war.

The book is in very good condition, possibly a sample copy as the ffep has a ticket from a paper mill stuck down. The pages are clean and the binding secure. The dustwrapper is heavily chipped and creased to the edges with some areas of loss but has not been price-clipped and is now within a protective sleeve.
