Arthur Ransome's remarkably objective view of six weeks in Russia after the Bolshevik take over. Ransome lived in Russia between 1914 and 1918 and became a foreign correspondent for the liberal Daily News and Manchester Guardian. He came to know many of the Bolshevik leaders like Lenin, Trotsky and Checherin almost as personal friends, and married Trotsky’s secretary, Evgenia Petrovna Shelepina. His book details his travels and observations around Moscow and Petrograd.

Fair, a reading copy only. The spine is darkened and heavily chipped and creased. The covers are a bit dog-eared. The contents are in good readable condition, but the inner binding is starting to weaken and gentle handling would be best.
