An odd volume of a larger set of Henry Stephens' Book of the Farm, the classic Victorian book on agriculture, first published in 1844. This later edition, printed in double columns, and rewritten for the late Victorian and Edwardian readership concerns the welfare of live stock, nutrition, crops for food, management of store and fattening, treatment of farm horses, preparing cattle for shows, wool etc. Illustrated with 7 pages of plates, with smaller illustrations within the text.

Condition

A fair copy. Whilst the book remains in good readable condition, there are white flecks of paint to the cloth binding, intermittent foxing throughout and some straining to the inner binding.
