An odd volume of a larger set of Henry Stephens' Book of the Farm, the classic Victorian book on agriculture, first published in 1844. This later edition rewritten for the late Victorian and Edwardian readership concerns live stock, dealing with horses (Shire, Suffolk, Clydesdale, Cleveland), cattle (Aberdeen-Angus, Galloway, Red Polled, Shorthorn, Lincolnshire Red Shorthorn, Hereford, Devon, etc), sheep (Leicester, Cotswold, Wensleydale etc), as well as swine, goats, poultry, bee-keeping, and sheep dogs. Illustrated with 14 pages of plates.

Condition

Good condition. The binding is a bit dulled and there is light scattered foxing throughout but it remains in strong readable condition.
