The Civil War in Soviet Russia (1918–1921) resulted in many homeless, particularly youths. The state believed they had to be brought into the socialist society and re-educated through collective socialist labour and education. In this book, Socialist educator Anton Semyonovich Makarenko describes his experiences in leading the Gorky Colony, one of the most successful colonies for the homeless youths.

Condition

The books are in very good condition, with some light tanning to the pages. The dustwrapper all have some wear with chipping to the edges and small tears to the spines but they are now in protective sleeves.
