Printing Details

First edition. Hardback in dustwrapper. 21.5 × 14.5cm, 287pp.

Ivan Margary was the leading authority on Roman roads in Britain and this is his study of all Roman roads from London through the Weald of Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Illustrated throughout with maps and photographs, this book draws a clear picture of the roads' character, construction, geography and uses. There is also a chapter on other contemporary trackways.

Condition

This is a very sound copy, with light foxing to the page edges but the pages are clean and the inner binding secure. The fold out map to the rear has a small tear where bound in. The dustwrapper has a lightly faded spine and some minor edgewear commensurate with age but is also very good.
