The novels of Jane Austen in five volumes with an introduction by Austin Dobson and illustrated by Hugh Thomson or C E Brock, all are hardback, and published by Macmillan, bound in red cloth with gilt titling and decoration to spine and upper board. Top edge gilt. each 17.5 × 11cm, Various dates and conditions:
1. Sense and Sensibility (1924, illus Hugh Thomson). A very good copy with just some light wear to the spine ends and boards.
2. Pride and Prejudice (1914, illus C Brock). A fair copy, inner binding weakened but holding, cloth binding heavily rubbed and with spotted fading.
3. Mansfield Park (1904, illus Hugh Thomson). A good copy, some light marking to the covers, and appears a bookplate has been removed from the front pastedown but nevertheless in strong readable condition.
4. Emma (1902, illus Hugh Thomson). A good copy, spine darkened and cloth a little rubbed
5 Northanger Abbey & Persuasion (1919, illus Hugh Thomson). Good, some bumping to the corners and tanning to the spine. Inner binding a little strained but remaining in strong readable condition.

A good set, please see above for condition for each book). In summary the condition ranges from fair to very good, but all books in strong readable condition.
