Some of his notable works include the Leicester University Engineering Building, the History Faculty Building at the University of Cambridge, the Clore Gallery and the Neue Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart, Germany.
This profusely illustrated book accompanied the major exhibition at the Tate Gallery in London in 1984 and then the Yale Center for British Art in 1985. The book aims at exploring the work of George Stubbs, both within his reputation as a horse painter and beyond, describing his painting of other animals, his portraits, and his sketches.

The book is in very good condition with a little light tanning to the page edges. The dustwrapper has some minor edgewear and a small closed tear to the bottom edge of the front fold but otherwise a very solid copy. A large and heavy book.
