First edition. Hardback, bound in blue cloth with gilt titling to spine and upper board. 23 × 15.5cm, 271pp.

This copy has a signed label from H Winifred Sturge pasted in to the ffep, along with a few relevant postcards and photographs. The book belonged to Florence Dent Priestman, who was a prefect at the school in 1903. She was born in Hull to a family of engineers (Priestman Brothers), and later became headmistress of the Friends School on Saffron Walden.

The story of The Mount School in York, founded in 1785 by Quakers. The book is illustrated with photographs.

Condition

A good reading copy though the boards are bumped and rubbed, and the pages have light foxing throughout. However, a nice association copy.
