First published in 1866, this book caused a sensation in Europe and America, sparking a wave of recreational canoeing by such well-known figures as Robert Louis Stevenson and inspiring paddlers from the Victorians to the modern practitioners of canoe camping and sea kayaking. Illustrated throughout with a fold-out map.
Condition
Poor. A reading copy only. The book opens to the title page (missing the ffep and half-title), and the inner binding is weak. The blue cloth remains attractive but with some spotted fading along the fore-edge, and light rubbing all over.
