A profusely illustrated edition of Edgar Allen Poe's poetry, including The Raven, Lenore, The Conqueror Worm, The Haunted Palace, Politan, as well as his poems written in youth, and his essay The Poetic Principle. The book is illustrated throughout with fine engravings and is quite a scarce early edition of Poe's works.
Condition
Fair condition only. The leather is heavily rubbed to all edges, the front hinge is open, the rear hinge still attached but weak. There is foxing to the prelims, and a bookplate has been removed from the front pastedown leaving surface abrasion. However, the main body of text is clean and the binding secure, making this copy readable with gentle handling.
