Printing Details

First edition, first impression. Hardback in dustwrapper. 20.5 × 13.5cm, 190pp.

The author's first novel. The theme of which is the conflict between man's compelling need for self-assertion and the assured happiness of married life—a conflict brought to the surface by the outbreak in London of a deadly pestilence which reduces the city to a panic-stricken place of dying and the dead.

The book is in very good condition, the dustwrapper has some tanning to the spine and one small closed tear to the top edge but is otherwise very good.
