A collection of Australian poetry from the Second World War, arranged alphabetically by poet. There is some fine verse here, and the compiler in his prefatory note writes "the editor hopes that this volume will go some way to dispelling the cartoonists' myth that the Australian serviceman is a bullying oaf with no interests other than booze, swei, women, brawls, bludging, and going A.W.L.". A previous owner notes this copy was bought in Sydney 9th April, 1945, and the book has the booksellers ticket from Dymock's Book Arcade in Sydney.
Condition
The book has some light sun fading to the spine but is otherwise in very good condition.
