Printing Details

First edition, first printing. Hardback in dustwrapper. 20.5 × 13.5cm, 254pp.

From the dustwrapper, "When Mr Kingdom-Ward, working for the US Army, was searching for a crashed aircraft in the Manipur Hills, he did not foresee that a few years later he and his wife would be making an expedition to the same area in their professional capacities as plant-hunters.... he calls this new book 'a plain tale of plant-hunting, nothing more', and this account of his Manipur expedition is, in effect, an adventure story beautified by descriptions of flora, fauna and scenery. Among his finds was the new lily, Lilium Macklinae."

Condition

A reading copy only. The book itself remains in strong readable condition, though with a slight lean to the spine. The dustwrapper is poor, with loss to the spine, fading and all over general wear.
