This copy belonged to folklorist Francesca Claremont and she has signed the ffep, and the book has her pencilled marginalia throughout.
A collection of poetry and tradition of the Hebridean islands, off the west coast of mainland Scotland. The book's chapters are: 1. The Road, 2. Sea Moods, 3. The Isles of Song, 4. The Christ Child, 5. Songs of Labour, 6. The Death Croon, 7. Columba and Iona, 8. Ancient Pre-Christian Heroic, 9. Of the Clans, 10. Sealwomen and Other Uncanny Folk, 11. Love Songs, 12. The Witchery, 13. Which Makes a Harper.
This is a good copy in string readable condition, with some fading to the green cloth and a light scuff along the bottom edge of the upper board. Also, as mentioned, there are relevant and interesting pencilled annotations.
