A Jazz Age romance, subtitled to the spine 'Romantic Marriage on Trial', scarce in the original dustwrapper. The blurb: "A meeting of eyes may be nothing but the merest meeting of eyes, but it can be a clashing thing of quick surprises and startled questions. Across the ballroom floor the eyes of the "Perfect Bachelor" and the "Flame Girl" met. Love and passion came to them that night. But their marriage, which seemed made in Heaven, met adversity and they learned that marriage must be lived on Earth"
The author was a prolific author of romantic fiction, and star of the silent screen, as well as being the 1910 model, the 'Kodak girl'. She married the actor Franklin Dyall, and was the mother of Valentine Dyall. She began writing fiction in the 1920s, this being quite an early title, and continued to the mid-1950s. The dustwrapper is by American John Drew, best known for his pulp fiction wrappers and covers.
Condition
Good condition for age. There are a few small closed tears to the wrapper, and significant bumps to the boards' edges but otherwise the book remains in strong readable condition.
