Printing Details

First German edition. Hardback in dustwrapper. 22 × 14.5cm, 241pp. Map endpapers. German text.

An account of a pioneer flight of the German aeroplane D-ANOY (a Junkers Ju 42) to the Far East, over the Pamir mountains. The author took an active part in the flight and tells of their adventures, forced landings, arrest in Chotan and their escape... They returned through Kabul, Teheran, Bagdad, and Rhodes. Illustrated with photographs.

Also loosely inserted are three bits of 1930s German booksellers ephemera: a publisher's 1937 catalogue, a flyer for Der Fleiger by Otto Lehmann, and a bookmark from Boysen + Maasch, a Hamburg bookshop where I presume the book was originally purchased.

Condition

The book itself is in good condition, but with some marking to the cloth binding. The dustwrapper is poor, and is in several pieces with loss to the corners and spine ends and is held in place by a protective sleeve.
