Here are two programmes of work by the British composer Alan Bush (1900–1995). He was a pianist, conductor, teacher and political activist. A committed communist, his uncompromising political beliefs were often reflected in his music.
1. Concert of Compositions by Alan Bush (Wigmore Hall, 30 October 1977). Contains brief biographies and works performed (Concert Piece for Cello & Piano, Op 17; 24 Preludes for the Piano, Op 84; and De Plenos Poderes, Song Cycle for Baritone and Piano, Op 86 (first performance). This is in very good condition.
2. Alan Bush, 85th Birthday Concert (Queen Elizabeth Hall, 10th January 1986). 25pp, stapled binding. Contains a list of pieces performed, and tributes and analysis of music by Michael Tippett, Hans Keller, Ronald Stevenson, and Colin Wilson. This copy is also in very good condition.
