This copy with the ownership pencil signature of Horace Pym. Pym (1844–1896) was an author, solicitor and noted book collector. He edited the journals of Quaker Caroline Fox.
A collection of twenty-eight short tales, mostly humorous social sketches but some contain a fantasy element.
Condition
A fair copy. The spine and boards' edges are browned, upper joint split, lower joint starting but all remaining attached. Bumping to the head of the spine. Foxed to prelims. The main body of text in good readable condition. Quite a scarce title.
