Full title: The Centenary of the Birth of a Friendship : Edward Elgar—Ivor Atkins. Elgar and Atkins and their Influence on Three Choir Festivals
A further celebration of the friendship of composer Edward Elgar and the Worcester Cathedral chorister and organist, Ivor Atkins, by the latter's son, following on from his book of 1984. This book concentrates on how Elgar and Atkins influenced the Three Choirs Festivals (Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester), as well as looking at the Elgar faily and the Worcester Festival band, the restoration of the score of Elgar's Dream of Gerontius and the centenary of Cardinal Newman's death, etc.
The author (1904–2003) was Elgar's godson.
