Printing Details

Assumed first or early edition. Orange card covers with printed titling. 16 × 10cm.

A hand-coloured map showing Derbyshire and the railways, which folds out to be 43.5 × 27cm. Derbyshire is divided into a Northern and Southern division, with each section having a hand-coloured border. The railway lines have been inked in by hand and show various branches of the Midland Railway and the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway in the north, with a thicker line to show passenger and goods lines, and a thinner line to depict mineral lines.

Condition

Very good condition for age. When opened the map is clear with only a little tanning to the page. The ink used to show the railway lines has bled through the page a bit leaving offsetting and some ghosting to the rear. There is one small tear to the top edge. The orange card covers are a bit rubbed and bumped but otherwise this is a very sound map.
