1951, three essays by Vsevolod Pudovkin, Grigori Aleksandrov, and Ivan Piryev
First edition. Paperback with stapled binding. 18.5 × 12.5cm, 58pp
A scarce book from Stalinist Russia on the production of films. The book comprises three essays from prominent members of the Russian film industry. 1. Film director Vsevolod Pudovkin contributes 'Principal Stages of Development of the Soviet Cinema', 2. Director Grigori Aleksandrov writes on 'Soviet Films on Foreign Screens', and 3. Director and screenwriter Ivan Piryev writes 'Our People's Art'.
This book is in slightly delicate condition. The spine is scuffed and the pages tanned. There is some rusting to the staples but the book remains complete and well-bound, and in good readable condition but probably best to handle it carefully.
