1925, an American book of brain teasers from G P Putnam and John Monk Saunders
First US edition. Hardback in brown cloth with printed titling to spine and upper board. 19.5 × 16cm, 95pp.
An early collaboration between the publisher George Palmer Putnam and John Monk Saunders, novelist, screenwriter and film director (he wrote The Flight Commander (filmed as The Dawn Patrol) and authored Wings, filmed under the same name, and was married to Fay Wray. This is a collection of brain teasers ("As much fun as crosswords") including observations tests, anagrams, geometry tests, and some element of general knowledge (here called information tests).
This copy is in very good condition for age. The first few tests have been done with the answers entered in pencil and then erased so the whole book is doable... There is a pencil holder bound to the side of the book.
