Quite a scarce first printing of Botrel's collection of soldier songs of the first year of the Great War, illustrated with pen and ink sketches.

Theodore Botrel (in full Jean-Baptiste-Théodore-Marie Botrel, 1868–1925) was a French singer-songwriter, poet and playwright and during World War I he became France's official "Bard of the Armies"

Condition

The covers are rather grubby and creased, with a previous owner's name to the front. The contents are in good condition, with a little corner creasing to the pages but remaining in strong readable condition.
