Illustrated with maps, diagrams and photographs, this book covers such dramatic events as the building of the Stockton and Darlington and the Liverpool and Manchester railways, the locomotive trials at Rainhill, the long battle with quicksands at Kilsby tunnel, and the floating and raising of the great tubes of the Conway and Britannia bridges.
Condition
The book is in very good condition, with some spotted foxing to the pages' top edge and tanning to the endpapers. The dustwrapper is worn a little along the edges but has not been price-clipped.
