This copy has been signed and dedicated with a small drawing of an owl by the illustrator, Inge Jastram. She worked predominantly in book illustration, and after the fall of the Berlin Wall, concentrated on a study of drawing prostitutes in Berlin.

A German language translation of Lucian's Dialogues of the Courtesans, an amusing series of dialogues between professional companions, hetairai, and the men they entertained, and also between themselves. The book is illustrated with pen and ink sketches by Inge Jastram.

The book is in very good condition, with a slightly tanned spine. The slipcase is in good order but a little toned to the edges and with some creasing. A rare title to find signed by the artist.
