The life of the 17th century Presbyterian minister
First edition. Hardback, bound in half-leather with marbled boards, spine with contrasting title labels and five raised bands. 19.5 × 13cm, 414pp .
The life, letters and diaries of Philip Lee, a 17th century Presbyterian minister and diarist, including some troubled times during the Civil War. His son Matthew became a minister and author of biblical commentary.
Good condition. The leather is scuffed to the spine and corners. The inner binding is secure, but a previous owner has handwritten his own index and annotations to the front and rear endpapers, as well as some inoffensive marginal notes and marks. (The previous owner was C B Phillimore of Hurley Manor House, Maidenhead). The book is in strong readable condition.
