First edition, second impression, hardback in super original Jazz Age dustwrapper. 18.5 × 12.5cm, 284pp.

Barbara Winship, pretty but penniless orphan from Savannah, Ga., goes to Paris to live with her middle-aged uncle and aunt, the Selbys. This is the story of her conquest of Paris. This novel was the author's first book, and she was the sister of American author Julien Green.

A good copy. The dustwrapper is a little tanned and chipped to the edges and spine but remains an attractive piece. The book is in strong readable condition, with a few spots of foxing to the page edges and a hint of a lean to the spine. Previous owner's neat name to the ffep.
