Reprint. Hardback in dustwrapper. 22 × 14cm, xxiv + 433pp.
This is an early printing of the 1947 reset edition, with a new foreword by the author and a bibliography of his writings. The book examines the following topics related to the integrative action of the nervous system: coordination in the simple reflex; interaction between reflexes; compound reflexes and simultaneous combination; compound reflexes and successive combination; reflexes as adapted reactions; some aspects of the reactions of the motor cortex; the physiological position and dominance of the brain; and sensual fusion.
The book is in very good condition with clean pages and secure binding. There is an inoffensive previous owner's name to the ffep and some newspaper clipping loosely inserted. The dustwrapper is a little tanned and chipped to the head of the spine. It is now within a protective sleeve.
