Lord Macaulay's Essays
and Lays of Ancient Rome, 1905, full leather
Hardback, full leather binding with five raised bands and gilt titling to spine, gilt crest to upper board. All page edges marbled. 19 × 12.5cm, [ii], 923pp.
An attractive copy of Macaulay's essays (John Milton, Lord Byron, Samuel Johnson, Horace Walpole etc) along with his Lays of Ancient Rome.
A very good copy. There is some minor scuffing to the spine and a previous owner's stamp to the ffep. Also a slight scar to the marbled paper of the front pastedown where I suspect a school presentation label has been removed. Otherwise, a very good, clean copy.
