Printing Details
First edition. Hardback, bound in the original buckram with printed titling to spine and upper board. Fore-edge untrimmed. 20 × 13.5cm, 245pp.
This copy has been signed, dated and dedciated by John Bryan to the ffep, to Thomas Newbigging, of Manchester, the author and historian who wrote "Fables and Fabulists".
A series of 39 fables (with moral) and about 45 essays from John Bryan, all with an improving message. The title page states that this is volume 1 and that the book is complete in itself (I can find no record of volume 2 having ever been published).
Condition
Good for age. The binding is darkened to the spine and a little discoloured and rubbed to the edges but is in good solid shape. The untrimmed page edges have tanned as is usual but the main body of text is in very good, clean condition.
