British Trotskyism considers the activities of Trotskyists within the Labour Party. It details their involvement with the trade unions and in mass campaigns such as CND, the Anti-Nazi League, Troops Out and the women's movement. While the far left have played a crucial role in championing causes that might otherwise have been neglected, Callaghan argues, its failure to become more than a mere catalyst of events is connected to its rigid adherence to a Leninist conception of socialist politics which, especially in regard to the question of democracy, he sees as defective, dogmatic and outdated.
Condition
The book is in very good condition, the dustwrapper is clean but is evenly sunfaded to the front and spine, and a few dents around the spine.
