Jocelyn Brooke's first full scale novel. From the dustwrapper, "Raynard Langrish, a young ex-army man, meets a territorial officer who takes him to a boxing match at his camp, and urges him to join his unit. For some time Langrish is undecided, but later discovers the camp has completely disappeared—and he can find no proof, despite his visit, that it had ever existed. Jocelyn Brooke establishes a relationship between the ordinary world and the other world symbolised by the territorial unit which reappears suddenly and to which Langrish is duly conscripted. Eventually he deserts, though after a number of sometimes terrifying experiences he finally gives himself up."

Condition

The book is in very good shape with some tanning to the page edges. The wrapper is chipped to the spine ends and corners and a little creased but has not been price-clipped and is now within a protective sleeve.
