This title by an ex-curator of Kew Gardens describes the plants, flowers and herbs that are in the Bible, often with reference to the relevant chapter and verse, including grass, corn, herbs, trees, shrubs etc. This edition is illustrated with ten lithographs by Walter Hood Fitch, a Scottish botanical artist.


This copy is in good plus condition. The green cloth is quite bright with a few marks and scuffs. The inner binding is pulled and weakening at the start of the book but generally sound through the rest. The pages clean if a little age-toned in places. All plates present as per the plate index. A previous owner's pencil signature and stamp is present to the ffep (Colonel Paget).
