Nouvelle edition. Bound in full leather with carved ivorine clasp (mounted on metal), the boards with six ivorine bosses bound in and an ivorine shield to upper board. All page edges gilt with foliate gauffered design to all edges. Watered silk endpapers and pastedowns with inner gilt dentelles. Silk ribbon page marker. The book housed in a box of moulded cardboard with metal corners. 15 × 9.5cm, 829pp.
A beautiful French prayer book, this one containing the church year, saints and services, and with a few tissue-guarded illustrations.
Condition
This copy is in excellent condition for age. There is some discoloration to the watered silk endpapers along the hinges and occasional foxing. The card box is unfortunately in weak condition and is falling apart but appears good and could be easily repaired.
