Commentary on the Psalms
1826, a nice leather binding on Bishop Horne's best known work
Reprint. Small hardback, half-leather binding with four raised bands and contrasting title labels to spine. Marbled boards. 13 × 7cm. l,,439pp.
A nicely bound copy of the first volume of Bishop Horne's commentary on the Psalms, first published in 1771. The work is is partly exegetical and partly devotional, proceeding on the principle that most of the Psalms are more or less Messianic, and cannot be properly understood except in those terms.
A very good copy. The leather is in very good order with some light rubbing to the boards' edges. The pages are clean with just a little spotted foxing and some offsetting from the frontispiece and engraved title. The inner binding is secure.
