An early printing of "amendment and better administration" of the laws relating to the relief of the poor in Scotland. This law created a central Board of Supervision which had the ability to raise local taxes to cover Poor relief costs. Unlike in England, the Scottish pauper had a legal right to appeal if they were denied poor relief.
Condition
The rebinding is in good condition, the first page of text (originally the cover) is heavily tanned. All pages are rough to the edges with some marginal loss but the text remains readable throughout. Condition commensurate with age.
