First published in 1830, Scott's Letters on Demonology came at a vital time for him after financial collapse of his publishers, Ballantyne, went bankrupt. The book attempts to develop broad theories on such subjects as the prevalence of belief in ghosts, witches, warlocks, fairies, elves, diabolism, the occult, and even werewolves in the Middle Ages, sourced from early literature.

Condition

A reading copy. The boards are rubbed and there is a slight lean to the spine. Some weakness to the inner binding though no loose pages, some tanning to the pages.
