The Book of Common Prayer and Proper Lessons
1833 & 1834, in leather case, also with The New Testament bound in
1833 & 1834. Full leather in leather case. Simple gilt decoration and titling to spine and gilt margins to boards, inner gilt dentelles. Each 14 × 8cm, the leather case is 14.5 × 9.5 × 5.5cm. Unpaginated.
An attractive set of prayer books. The Common Prayer (1834) also has The Psalms bound in. The Proper Lessons (1833) has the complete New Testament bound in after the lessons and prayers.
The leather case is a little worn and marked, with the folding flap at the top weakened but still attached. The Common Prayer is in good order but lacks the ffep and has a little fading to the giltwork to the spine. The Proper Lessons looks lovely but has blue ink doodling to the ffep, and rear endpaper and pastedown. The main body of text in both volumes is in good condition, and the pages clean.
