First edition, hardback. Bound in the original green cloth with gilt titling to upper board. 22.5 × 14cm, 231pp.

Full title: The Records of Denbigh and its Lordship: Bearing upon the General History of the County of Denbigh since the Conquest of Wales; Illustrated with Many Gems of Welsh Mediaeval Poetry Never Before Published. Volume 1.

A history of Denbigh in North Wales, including ancient Welsh laws and customs, De Beckele's survey, castles and parks, High Sheriifs and municipal history etc. The book has a few plates of shields and crests and examples of early Welsh poetry.

Condition

A good reading copy. There is a small divot in the upper board under the titling, and the book is foxed throughout. There are occasional pencil annotations to the margins and a pencil note to the front pastedown which on where the book was bought. There is also a previous owner's signature to the title page but this is indecipherable.
