Signed and dated by Richard Mayr in Vienna in 1933.

A biography and study of the Austrian operatic bass-baritone who was famed for his roles in the operas of Mozart, Strauss, and Wagner. He had been a medical student by Mahler persuaded him to study music and he became the mainstay of the Salzburg Festival from 1921 to his retirement in 1934. The book is illustrated with photographs.

Condition

This is a very good copy, the gilt titling has faded from the spine and there is some very light foxing but otherwise this is a sound copy.
