Carmen Sylva's collection of Roumanian and German folk tales, translated from the original German editions of Pelesh Marchen and Durch die Jahrhunderte by Alma Strettell, many of which are associated with the mountains that surround her home among the pine-woods of Sinaia and the Pelesch river in Roumania, the others from different areas of Germany (Saxony, the Black Forest etc). Illustrated with full page plates and chapter headings by T H Robinson.

Condition

Good condition. The cloth is faded to the spine and rubbed to the spine ends and corners but the books remains in strong readable condition. The inner binding is secure but the pages have been cut a little carelessly with some loss to the margins but no loss to the text. Previous owner's name and nameplate to front pastedown.
