With Mrs Craik's cut signature, and signed by the publishers
First thus, hardback in decorative boards. This copy limited to 250 copies, this one unnumbered but signed as "presentation copy". Pages untrimmed, top edge gilt. 26 × 19.5cm, xii + 464pp.
This copy has Dinah Maria Craik's signature neatly tipped in at the front pastedown. It is a limited edition and has been signed to the limitation page by the publishers. Additionally there is a lovely bookplate for Dorothy L Marshall to the ffep.
A compelling historical novel of a young man’s rise from poverty to wealth in a small provincial town during the Industrial Revolution. Illustrated with twenty colour plates tipped in on brown card and with titled tissue guards.
This copy is in good plus condition. The boards have light rubbing with two small marks just beneath the titling to the spine, and the untrimmed page edges are tanned. There is foxing to the prelims but the main body of text is in good order with just light scattered foxing and the inner binding is secure. All plates present.
Please note: Due to the recent price rise for final mile delivery from USPS, our postage rates to the US have had to rise. We apologise for this but have no choice.
