Printing Details

First edition, second printing. Hardback in dustwrapper. 19.5 × 13cm, 20pp.

Not signed but this copy has Rockwell Kent's bookplate for noted bookman and philanthropist Frederick Baldwin Adams to the front pastedown.

The last of MacLeish's longer poems. From the wrapper, "America, from its discovery, was promises. But promises to whom? MacLeish believes that this is the question history presents to us. He believes that the answer is the answer being given by our time."

The book is in very good condition. The dustwrapper a bit tanned to the spine and a few nicks to the edges.
