Fourth edition, hardback bound in the original red cloth with gilt titling to spine. 19 × 12.5cm, 304pp.

Full title: Brideshead Revisited, the Sacred and Profane Memories of Captain Charles Ryder

Evelyn Waugh's 1945 novel of Charles Ryder and his seduction by the Flyte family, Venice and Catholicism. The earlier editions are an interesting read as Waugh pruned the book for a new edition in 1959 having been appalled when he re-read it.

A good solid copy, but with a little bumping to the boards and foxing to the endpapers, pastedowns and page edges. The main body of text is clean and the binding is secure. Previous owner's gift inscription to ffep.
